Keeping Up with the Kardashian Flies

Ahhh yes finally "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" is finally back on the air. Tonight was the opening night of the new season for the quirky family and they did not disappoint. The show opens with the family just enjoying each other's company before Khloe heads back to Dallas....except Bruce. Bruce is upstairs sleeping and has no interest in communicating with the family. However, he feels unappreciated and does an experiment. He stays over at Khloe & Lamar's home and sees how the family reacts. However when two days pass and no one calls to check on him, Bruce heads home--pissed. Kris doesn't even realize that Bruce has been MIA for two days and doesn't take his feelings seriously. It almost sounds like Bruce gives Kris an ultimatum when he says things need to change or he's leaving. Perhaps divorce in the future? Wouldn't be a shocker to me. Bruce, Kris, Kylie, and Kendall all go out for ice cream (without cellphones) to catch up on each other's lives. Parents of the Year, Bruce and Kris come to find out Kylie is having trouble with science. Apparently Kylie and Kendall are old enough to leech off the success of their older sisters and they now have a career of their own. The difference between them and the older Kardashians? They are children! Children who should be getting an education first. It's just so sad to see that Bruce and Kris aren't that actively involved in their kids' academics to know when they need help or improvement.

Kris has written a memoir, called "Kris Jenner...and All Things Kardashian, about her life and it isn't ashamed to talk about her marital affairs. Or is she? Past ex-wives of the late Robert Kardashian claim that Kris Jenner cheated during her marriage at the time Khloe was conceived. Kris admittedly debunks these rumors but she still pushes Khloe into taking a DNA test. Kris says it's really for Khloe benefits. Girl stop. Kris you just wants America to believe you aren't as big as a whore as you made yourself in the memoir. Khloe doesn't want to take the test because she knows her two fathers and nothing is going to change that. But I think Khloe is scared that the rumors might true. I mean can you imagine growing up with a man that could possibly not be your father? However in the end, according to Kris Jenner and the Today Show Khloe eventually takes the paternity test. And the results are (drum roll please), Robert Kardashian you ARE(were?) the father! I guess me and Kourtney were on Team Khloe for nothing. *shrugs*

The next big thing in this episode was the hostile environment between Kourtney and Kim. Now I'm true fanatic of the Kardashians. I watched "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" since the first season, including their spin-offs when they take over the world one city at a time. But the argument who does the most work never seems to get old. Kourtney feels like she does most of the work when it comes to Dash and it's true. Khloe is busy being a wife (respect) to Dallas player Lamar Odom. Kim is busy recooperating from a failed marriage with her new beau Kanye West. Can you really be mad at Khloe for wanting her marriage to work? I don't think so and Kourtney isn't either. She's mad at Kim for not making time for their business and Kim is tired of running on Kourtney's schedule. Kourtney may be a control freak, but someone has to when the rental lease for Y'ALL clothing store is up in a month but she seems to be the only really concerned. Kourtney decides to include Kim for shopping for new leases (after all her bitching) and what's do you know? Kim hates every place Kourtney has looked. However when Khloe flies into town to see the place, Kim all of the sudden loves it. Kourtney makes a little dig at Kim when Kris's tells her to invite Kim next time when it is business about Dash. Kourtney says she will because "I know [Kim] needs it". It is no surprise about Kim's short lived marriage with Kris Humpheries, but it seems likes big sister Kourtney takes a personal dig at Kim's latest disappoint for keeping a man. Kourtney wouldn't be wrong in saying that either.

Throughout the drama, I think the most important factor is not who's Kris's baby daddy or where Kourtney can tell Kim to shove it. The highlight of this show is that Mason the cute, adorable, and purest member of the Kardashian cult will have a little sister to play with. Kourtney announced to the family the she and Scott will be having a baby girl! As long as we keep video equipment away or maybe Kim altogether, I think the little girl will turn out just fine.

Basketball Wives: Bullying taken to far

So I'm a fanatic of trashy, reality TV and Basketball Wives is no different. However even I have to say I've been disgusted with the behavior of the grown woman (specifically Tami) in these past two episodes. For those who don't watch Basketball Wives let me give you a quick summary. VH1 producers follow the lives of women who spouses are in the NBA. But you can already tell this show is about drama because out all nine women only three have been officially married to NBA players (Shaunie, Jennifer, and Kenya). This current season VH1 adds southern, dancer Kesha and knife happy Kenya. The season starts off rocky for Kesha after meeting (for the first time) Tami and Tami says she looks "more like an Alicia than a Kesha". From then on Kesha and Tami had issues that weren't really resolved because of the heresay from their friends. Fast forward to the Tahiti trip, the situation spirled out of control.  It was clear Tami still had a problem with Kesha but only decided to say something when she had some liquid courage (one tequila shot). Tami immeadiately goes into a rant about why Kesha told Suzie (another basketball girlfriend) that she "could have gone off on Tami" but didn't want to make her look bad because she was doing that perfectly on her own. While Tami is hollering and cursing, Kesha is simply sitting there, mouth shut. Most people believe Kesha is weak and has no backbone but quite frankly I believe she is smart and calculated. I don't think Kesha would let someone belittle her unless she knew there was a chance of being hit. If this same conversation happened with a less physically confrontational person, Kesha would have spoken up. But Kesha realized with Tami she was screwed either way so she left the table and went back to her room.

When Kesha left the table she, stupidly, left her purse and Tami decided to hold it hostage to force an apology out of Kesha for her comment. However Kesha felt like she didn't owe Tami an apology and decided to get the authorities but that plan was quickly thrawted by Suzie.  Meanwhile Kesha is hysterical and looks like a child kicked down by the worst school bully in history. Suzie once agains runs to Tami and tells her Kesha was going to report her bag stolen. Tami goes to Kesha's room and gives the purse back and says she not going to hit Kesha because of how pitiful she looks. After that fiasco, the next morning Kesha is at peace and happy to leave the foreign country to get back to the States. While the other girls are sad, they are understand  and believe this is the right choice for Kesha.

Opinion Time: We may have thought the Kardashian family were awful but Tami has now become reality TV's worst villian. If Tami would have picked anyone to fight with, viewers wouldn't have care. But she picked Kesha, a woman who rationalizes confrontation with her words and not her fists. Tami believe she deserves a free past because Kesha doesn't understand how she grew up. Tami, you are a 41 year old grown woman with two daughters who look up to strong black women to aspire to and this what you put on TV? There is not an excuse in the world that let me give Tami a pass and Kesha agrees. What really bothers me is Shaunie and Evelyn's behavior through out this altercation. On one hand they feel bad for Kesha but on the other they see Tami's side. Evelyn can save those crocodile tears for someone who cares because if you stand up for what is right, you either support Kesha 100% or you don't. If I were Kesha, I would have been just as mad at Suzie because she ran back and told Tami that comment. Kesha has a right to say what ever she wants but I wish she wouldn't have said in front of Suzie the snitch.

Viewers are signing petitions to cancel this show and future spin offs and as mad as I am, I'm not going to sign it. If you don't like the show don't watch it but, don't make a petition like this is a political issue hampering the improvement of Americans' lives. TV shows are for entertainment if you something intellectual go watch a documentary on PBS.

Where Have You Been?

Rihanna's latest album, Talk that Talk, is my absolute favorite from this artist. With hits like "You Da One" and "Birthday Cake", Rihanna creates an album that's commercial for every listener. But my current favorite is "Where Have You Been"; the uptempo of the track is very similar to the high energy of "We Found Love" and makes me just want to dance. I thought the song was good but when the video came out, I fell in love with this track. My only complaint is some of the choreography is very similar to Beyonce's "Run the World." However the video concept is created well enough to overlook copycat choreographing. I've been dancing since I was little and what I love about music is the dance routines created by unknown artist(s). After looking through many videos, I believe I've found one worth mentioning. These dancers are from the O school in Singapore and their instructor created a high energy performance that is definitely worth watching and even try out for yourself. Enjoy :)...

It'd Be Rude Not Introduce Myself

I'm Dominique and you are now embarking on my journey of becoming an awesome blogger! I'm from Tampa, Fl but I go to school at UF where I'm studying Journalism. My freshman year I focused on being a chemistry major going on the pre-med track. But I noticed the math and science classes I was taking weren't as interesting as my English classes. I've always wanted to be a doctor since I was little, along with being a Grey's Anatomy fanatic, but when I think about my future journalism career there's a light in my eye that I haven't felt for medicine in a long time. So this blog is me putting my foot through the door of the journalism world. Stay tuned :)....
